My Funny Valentine @whyhity

So… I started this post before Valentine’s Day with the thought that I’d hop on here on Valentine’s Day and finish and post it.  Well, it was a Cece day, which means I get zero work done because we play the whole time, and then at night I just spent it with Ty.  Alas, here we are a few days after… finally finishing up!

Tyler is one of those people who you just can’t believe exists.  A friend of mine and I were chatting the other day and they said, “no offense… but how did you get her?” My funny reply was that I fed her drinks and brainwashed her. While that’s obviously not true, I am not sure what I did or how I did it. It just… happened.  

I will say that it happened when I finally stopped looking, which of course everyone said would happen.  And of course I hated every time I heard it.  But in the end, it was true.

Sweet, comic Valentine

I get all gushy when I talk (hell, even THINK) about Tyler. But it’s Valentine’s Day so I think it’s totally appropriate to gush on my bride-to-be. Tyler wakes up in the morning ALWAYS in a good mood. I used to be a crankster in the morning, but when you have a darling face like her smiling at you when you wake up, you can’t help but change your perspective for the day ahead. She’s so sweet. She tells me sweet things about me (my #1 love language is words of affirmation), and will kiss me even with stinky morning breath.

She also makes me laugh so hard. We have the same sense of humor, which allows us to tag each other in memes anytime we are apart, and she makes me laugh anytime we are together. While we can have the tough conversations, she is always able to brighten the mood when we need it. That’s a rare gift.

You make me smile with my heart

Tyler has the best heart. She loves all animals (she adopted two amazing dogs), all humans (even the stupid ones), my kids (I’m getting choked up), and me. Seeing her heart shows me what it’s like to love with passion and empathy. I’ve learned a lot about love from talking with her (and I’m almost 39 years old !), and I’m grateful for her patience and adoration for me.

I’m just a really thankful, really blessed guy. I am so happy we found each other and I’m excited for the journey ahead! I hope you follow along!
