I’m So Thankful I Photographed Them Before This Happened…

Our timing was nothing short of orchestrated. I announced on Instagram a few weeks ago that I wanted to photograph a few pets and their owners after my (about to be) sister-in-law’s dog crossed the rainbow bridge. <<A term my fiancee uses and I picked up on.

Shelby wanted to surprise her boyfriend with pictures of their puppy, Kreed, who was diagnosed with a heart condition. At the shoot, Shelby told me she didn’t know if Kreed would spend 6 days or 6 years with her, so she was taking advantage of the time they had.

I edited the photos and sent her a link to which she replied:

“I cried!!!
These mean sooo much to me!!!
We are so excited to give them to andrew for his Birthday! Thank you so much!! Makes this mommas heart so happy!!!

The next day I got this followup message and my heart sank…

I want to thank you for sending those photos. I think God knew I needed to see those. This morning we laid kreed to rest at 12:45am. Thank you for taking these photos. For helping us always remember the fun loving boy he is. These mean the world to me and I can’t wait to give Andrew them. Hugs.

I’m so happy I was able to photograph these when I did. What started as a spur of the moment decision to offer this special type of session has turned into an extremely special shoot for a deserving couple.
