When we were planning her Christmas Card Photo Shoot, Cameron and I KNEW we had to include her two puppies! Even though Cameron and I are friends, I had never met Cubby and Donut in person! Tyler and I were super excited to finally meet (and photograph) Cameron and Beau’s fur babies.
How to plan the perfect Christmas Card Photo Shoot…
When planning the perfect Christmas Card Photo Shoot, I try to do three main things. First, I want to make it personal to the couple. Second, I want to find pretty light. Third, I want to make it appropriate for the season.
Because Cameron and Beau just moved to Fayetteville from Kansas City, I thought we should shoot at their new home. Cameron had put up some Christmas decorations on their porch so we started there.
Then, to give a little variety to the shoot, we photographed at Gulley Park. Gulley Park is a great location for photo shoots because of its vast size and different backdrops. We strolled the park and found some pretty light. As it so happened, it was in front of a huge Christmas tree!
Cameron chose sparkles and Christmas red for her outfits. First she wore a sparkle dress with red shoes, and then sparkle shoes with a red dress. Of course, her two maltipoos had to wear Christmas sweaters. Beau looked dapper in his blue suit to complete the family’s ensemble.
When is the perfect time for a Christmas Card Photo Shoot? If you have a fast turnaround (yay! I do!), then late November is perfect. The weather looks like Christmas, and it’s enough time to get the cards designed, printed, and sent. Good job with the planning, Cameron!
Talk to you soon,
P.S. Does this couple look familiar? It’s because I photographed their engagement pictures in Kansas City!
