On Saturday I finally got to photograph a full reception and wedding at Osage House in Northwest Arkansas. And what a wedding it was! Light and bright and airy… this modern wedding was so dreamy!

Peyton and Paige have been my friends for the past couple years, having met them at Puritan (coincidentally, that is also where the bride and groom first met). I was honored when they chose me to be their wedding photographer for the Osage House wedding, and so stoked it they booked it there. Keeping true to the all-good-things-come-from-Puritan picture I’m painting, I first met Ashley (owner of Osage House) at Puritan back in her planning stages for the modern wedding venue in Northwest Arkansas.

I had actually photographed at Osage House a couple times, including this NWA modern wedding styled shoot. However, this was my first wedding at Osage House… needless to say, I arrived early out of pure excitement for the wedding day ahead of me. I mean, just look at this incredible light and airy wedding venue…

The florals by Zuzu’s Petals were stunning (see above), and Trisha at Shindig Paperie did a dreamy job on the invitations (see below)

I always love a bride who knows her style in wedding dresses, and Paige chose the PERFECT wedding for her style. Of course, the team at Joon Bridal helped the bride in her quest for the dress.

I love first looks. First looks with dads, brothers, grooms, bridesmaids, etc. This first look with her bridesmaids was a lovely moment I was happy to capture…

Bridal portraits are a necessity here in the South, but I wanna start making a priority to shoot some groom’s portraits… especially when the groom has style like Peyton does. There are so many gorgeous places to photograph portraits at Osage House, as you’ll see, and even on a hot day we don’t have to go far (or stay outside for long) to capture some gorgeous frame-worthy shots.

I hope to photograph a lot more weddings at Osage House because 1) I live right up the road from the modern wedding venue and 2) just look at this place! It’s a jaw-dropper!

When I pulled in to Osage House on the wedding day, I saw the high grass on the hill and I knew right then that I’d be bringing the couple out during golden hour for some sunset portraits. I’m pretty obsessed with these and even if the chapel wasn’t insanely pretty, this field would be reason enough to have a wedding at Osage House.

When I took photography in college, my profession always encouraged us to get tight, medium, and wide angle shots of a space to tell the full story. I loved putting these to use for the first dances. I also used the florals on the head table to frame the bride and groom for their first dance… and I’m obsessed with how it came out!

And now more of those sunset portraits I photographed at Osage House – literally right outside the reception space.

Brock Entertainment brought the party, per usual, and the crowd was ready to dance and have a great time!

Sparkler exits are always a good idea.

Peyton and Paige, thank you so much for believing in me to photograph your incredible wedding day. It was such a treasure spending the day with you and your families. I look forward to a lifelong friendship (and maybe some Sundays on the lake!). Much love to you both!

Talk to you soon,
Dale
