This morning I woke up in Kansas City. I had my morning coffee, daily reading, and morning emails… then was out the door to my first of three shoots by 9am. After driving back and forth across the City of Fountains, twice, I was wrapping up the shooting day at 4pm.

All day long, I was so excited for the moment I got to head back home. I hadn’t seen Tyler and Scout since Tuesday. Lately, my threshold for being away from them is less than 48 hours before I start getting itchy. I’ve been spoiled by being able to work from home with both Tyler and Scout right there with me.

When I wrapped, I raced to the car and hit the road, knowing that if I didn’t hit any traffic, or get pulled over by any police (why is this a thing for me?!), I’d be able to make it home in time to give Scout a bath, meditate, and help put her to bed. Also, yes, you read that right… Scout has (hilariously) started asking for “mehtayshun” – meditation, which we do in the Peloton app.

That’s about the cutest thing I’ve ever heard.

I remember that Tyler and I work so hard so that our family can be provided for. However, it’s still so hard to be away from my girls. I love coming home to see Scout waiting at the window and then screaming when she sees me round the corner. I hope I never forget that she does/did that.

The thing is, she will only be two years old one time. She will only be like this for a fleeting moment. I know this because I’ve already seen it. Ellie is one year away from being an adult, and believe it or not… Cece is halfway there already as well. I want to make sure I soak up all the Scoutiness I can.

Talk to you soon,
Dale
