I never questioned what kind of mother Tyler would be. Often during our dating life, I would see little hints of how caring and nurturing she was. The actual reason escapes me, but for some reason I had to log in to her pinterest for something and saw something that completely melted my heart. She had a private board of activities to do with kids on the autism spectrum. It still chokes me up to think about. Cece wasn’t her kid, but he maternal instinct was there even before she met Cece.

Over the next couple years they became such sweet buddies. Doing yoga together (which is really great for Cece), reading books together, going to Amazeum, etc. She also has loved Ellie since day one as well. Actually, because Tyler followed my blog she already knew and admired Ellie for years before they ever met in person, which I think is pretty cool. I’m thankful for the bond Tyler has with each of her ”bonus kids.”

So, when we got married, it wasn’t long before we wanted to have another kid in the house. With each of my first two kiddos, I was so very nervous. However, this time I felt 100% at peace. A lot of that had to do with everything I’ve talked about. I knew I would have the most incredible teammate and support raising this kid, and whoa… do I ever.

Tyler is the kind of mom you can’t believe is real. She gives so much to our family; furthermore, is a teammate who thrives off of pouring in to our little Scout. If you could be a fly on the wall in the Benfield household, it wouldn’t take long to see what I’m talking about. They have such fun adventures whether it be a trip to the zoo or building forts out of cushions, pillows, and blankets. And through it all they just talk talk talk talk talk. Tyler is the real deal. And I’m thankful to have her as my teammate in life.
