I think we can all agree that this Hall of Springs Wedding is worthy of another blog post. First, the sexy couple chose a sexy venue. Then, they chose a dream team of wedding vendors, including Katie O’ Events in Albany, and of course JP Elario behind the camera. Because I was shooting a wedding the following day as a lead shooter for my best bud, I had the fun opportunity to be a 2nd shooter at this Hall of Springs wedding.
Yesterday served as a great example of what you should do as a wedding 2nd shooter. Today, I wanted to walk you through the wedding as an actual wedding day story. Some of the images might be similar to yesterday, but none will be the same! Let’s dive in, shall we?
It’s not typical for me to be meeting a bride and/or groom on the actual wedding day. I take pride in getting to know my couples on a personal level long before the wedding day. That way, the bride and the groom can feel comfortable around me and in front of my camera. However, most grooms are not Paul. Paul is a natural in front of the camera, and we warmed up to each other quickly.
When Paul was ready to roll, we set off for Congress Park in Saratoga Springs for his first look with Eugenia. Speaking of Eugenia, she has my favorite quality in a bride. Do you know what that quality is? Excitable. You’ll see it in so many images throughout this blog post. Eugenia was fun and sweet and sexy and romantic, on top of excitable. They were such an inspiration to photograph.
Then we started taking some really fun and sexy wedding portraits at Congress Park in Saratoga Springs. I love how this ledge frames the couple and wraps around them with some great leading lines. Maybe I’ll do a composition tricks post soon!
And this wedding portrait at Congress Park is one of my favorites. It’s so classic and timeless. And very, very romantic.
And omg. These two. I’m just obsessed.
This next shot wasn’t posed. As Eugenia was heading into the Hall of Springs for the wedding, I asked her to turn around and give me a quick smile. Total perfection.
The Jewish wedding ceremony at the Hall of Springs was such a fun experience to be a part of.
After the ceremony we went outside at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga for some more wedding portraits. Hey, when you have a couple this gorgeous and this in love, paired with a day that was supposed to be filled with rain, you take advantage!
Goodness… the way she looks at him.
The wedding reception inside the Hall of Springs banquet hall wedding venue was equal parts romantic and fun. I think you’ll see that in the emotion and reactions in the next images.
This collage is a great representation of a fun, fun, fun wedding reception. The couple brought so much fun energy to the dance floor, and their guests fed off that!
Finally, the bride changed into the cutest and sexiest little wedding dress for the end of the reception. Guess what? We did more portraits. Are you surprised?
This collection of images is my favorite. So much love and fun in these images.
Eugenia and Paul, it was an honor to be a part of your wedding day! Congratulations on the start of a beautiful marriage.
Talk to you soon,
Dale
