Hey friends!
Welcome to another edition of the Sunday Weekly Roundup. I’m in Kansas City today getting ready for a two-day shoot. I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t working right up until the moment we leave for vacation. Each trip to Kansas City I take (which is usually 1 trip per month), I feel like I dig a little deeper into the culture here. I enjoy KC, and have often thought about just buying a 2nd house here. Anyway, tonight I ate at a really great restaurant (I’ve eaten at about 90 percent of the restaurants you would tell me to go to) that I wanted to share. It’s called Town Co. and is inside the Hotel Kansas City. I had 5 courses and two mocktails. I of course sat at the chef’s counter so I could take a few pictures (more on that later this week).
Amazeum Zing Fling with the Fam
Yesterday, Amazeum had a private member’s party that I was so excited to take the kids to. Ty, Scout, Cece and I loved all the fun things they had for us. In addition to the water area and the “paint the glass” area (which always slaps), we did a few new activities. There was a chocolate tasting which had each person sample 4 different chocolates and discuss them. They ranged in bitterness and texture. It was a really fun exercise that I think even Scout could understand and participate in. They also had interactive magic moments that were really fun. Check out the photos below for some highlights.
Lunchtime with Ellie
Earlier in the week, Ellie texted that she and her boyfriend were in town. So, Cece and I hopped in the car and zipped over to Cheers at the Old Post Office. The food there isn’t my favorite, but the conversation with my 18-year-old is totally my favorite. We discussed school and Ellie’s future plans, which I’m really excited about. I’ll of course share those once they are official. Cece, who loves taking photographs with her phone, took these during Ellie’s lunch.
Potty Time Update
Scout has been going to the big girl potty all week. For the most part. As I mentioned last week Tyler was setting up a whole motivation program and it worked like a charm. Except now whenever Scout goes and uses the bathroom she comes to us and tells us she needs a potty surprise, lol. We have had a couple accidents, as to be expected, but we are getting there! To reward Scout for making such a change, we had a sleepover party on Thursday and Friday night. I brought down the guest mattress to the living room and we all snuggled and fell asleep watching Toy Story 3 (my favorite one, by the way). We also got a cookie cake with a toilet on it, hahaha! Being a dad sure is fun.
Blog Refresh
Have you noticed any changes around here? I’m in the process of reworking some design elements, text, and layout on my website. In doing so, I thought it was a good time to update the blog homepage as well. I’ve started playing around with it to make it more fun and user friendly. I’ll continue refining it over the next couple weeks, so, pardon the dust!
Upcoming this week: KC shoots + Disney. I can’t wait to share it all with you!
Talk to you soon,
Dale
