I often speak about missing Scout, Ty, Ellie, and Cece. Traveling so much is taxing, and not being with them every day isn’t easy. I must constantly remind myself that I’m doing good work and providing for them as best I can.
What I don’t talk about often is missing man’s best friend, my dog Louie. Louie is so sweet, so dumb, and so loyal. I remember our first meeting: I went to Tyler’s house to teach her about cameras and camera settings. Louie was there and didn’t take to me quickly. In fact, he snapped at me when I reached toward Tyler at one point. Tyler and Louie were there for each other for a very long time before I came along. Slowly, I won his trust and loyalty, though I immediately gave him mine.
How could you not love this face? He barks at every person who walks or drives in front of our house. He seems to know every time I’m on a zoom call because it’s those moments when he chooses to act like a fool. He wants to be let outside but then waits (and barks) by the back door no less than 10 seconds after you let him out. But God love him, I wouldn’t trade him for anything.
Louie, buddy boy, I miss you and can’t wait to see you Sunday night!
Talk to you soon,
Dale
