Look at these two young lovers. Goodness, they have no idea what is in store for them in their future.
There was a trend on tiktok that asked “if you had a preview of what your life would be like with a person while on your first date, would you still go?”
In two weeks, Tyler and I will celebrate 4 years of marriage. During this we started and sold a business, had two kids, lost one fur baby, bought our house, endured a pandemic, and traveled on 100+ flights across the globe. 4 Years doesn’t sound like a long time. However, I can’t remember what life was like before I got to spend every day with her.
It’s such a cheesy thing but I told Tyler yesterday that I think it’s totally wild that when you marry someone, it’s like you’re picking one person out of the entire population to be your everyday best friend. I get to hang out with her every single day… crazy.
Lately, I’ve been more in awe than usual when I think about how much this woman does for our family. Did you know she still hasn’t started her maternity leave? And she handles this family like a master puppeteer. But with people who need to eat, sleep, and be entertained all day. She produces food with her actual body to sustain life for an infant. And she does all this on next to no sleep.
I help when I can, but honestly, I’m just trying to keep up. She is gracious, though, and pulls me alongside her, sharing credit for all her successes.
If I had a preview of what my life would be like with Tyler while on our first date, I would have wished I started sooner.
Thanks for being here,
Dale
