This weekend, Scout was Tyler’s Wedding Date at her cousin’s wedding. Of course, I was shooting the wedding, but more on that later. Tyler looked amazing, and of course, Scout was a little heartbreaker.
Leading up to the wedding, we prepped Scout on what to expect. She got excited about the idea of dancing with a big group of people, fireworks, bubbles, cupcakes, etc. It got me thinking: man, weddings sure are great! I can’t believe this is my profession!
It was really inspiring to see the wedding through the eyes of a child. You know, as a wedding photographer it is easy to become desensitized to all the beautiful things weddings represent and how special and fun a wedding reception is.
I was honored when Tyler‘s cousin hired me to photograph her wedding. I was inspired by my own daughter to do that to the best of my ability and creativity. I’m so excited to share Jenny’s wedding with you this week. When you read the words and look at the images, try to view them from a fresh perspective like our little Wedding Date.
Thank you to Tyler’s Wedding Date who made me even better at my job.
I hope to continue to approach weddings with the curiosity and excitement of a child.
Talk to you soon,
Dale
P.S. It was also cool for Scout to get to see me “at work.” She sees me take photos around the house of course, and knows that I’m a photographer. However, seeing me photograph a wedding was pretty cool.
