If I have a 2023 word for 2023, it’s this: realignment. When used together for good, time management and willpower can make mountains move. I used to be really good at both. However, I feel my time management has become lax. I want to realign my life to when I was most productive, while balancing being present. In doing so, I’ve come up with my top 5 2023 New Year’s Resolutions.
My top 5 2023 New Year’s Resolutions
#1 Get Fit. How original, I know. I was super bummed that I failed so miserably in 2022 when it came to doing a Peloton workout every day. I want to add that back this year, but give myself a little grace in case I miss a day or two. That’s why my resolution is to do a Peloton workout five days a week. I would love to get their new Row machine, but I’ll settle for the bike, yoga, boxing, etc. Of my 2023 New Year’s Resolutions, this is the one I am most nervous about.
#2 Say Yes More. There were a few times this year when I lost my patience. I know… I have an opinionated and stubborn two-year-old, AND I gave up drinking for 2022. But I found myself saying no during times that I could have said yes. Not just to Scout but to myself. To Tyler. It won’t be a full Yes, Man situation, but I want to be more positive and adventurous in 2023.
#3 Build my Fine Art Prints business. During travel, even when it’s just for fun, I want to shoot more fine art landscapes. I will be doing more custom printing in 2023 and want to create some epic imagery to print. I have 500K Marriott miles and 350K American Airline miles to use, not to mention a companion pass coming my way in 2023. There is no excuse not to take a trip or two that is focused on creating fine art landscapes. Do you have any suggestions on where I should go? Message me!
#4 Create more. This year, I blogged every single day. In 2023, I want to balance that with creating TikTok videos. This is the 9th year of my life that I’ve blogged every day. While it would be cool to say a year from now that I’ve blogged every day of the year for 10 years, I’m trying to figure out how to add TikTok to the mix. Currently, I’m set on writing a blog or TikTok every day of 2023. I haven’t decided how exactly that pans out. Regardless, you’ll still get something new from me every day of 2023.
#5 Consume more books. For as much as I travel, you would guess I read more than I actually do. On the contrary, I’ve watched most tv shows on Netflix. I want to use my iPad Pro more in 2023 (drawing, planning, and organizing, etc.) so I might as well download books to it and read on flights. Or listen to them… I have an Audible account that I rarely use. This is another of my 2023 New Year’s Resolutions that make me nervous about completing, but I’m setting a goal to consume 20 books. That’s 19 more than I did in 2022 I think.
I hope I don’t let myself down! If I can accomplish these 5 very attainable, very reasonable goals, 2023 will be my best year yet!
