If you’ve been living under a rock for the past two weeks you might not have seen Kourtney Kardashian’s Luxury Wedding. Kourtney K married Blink-182 drumming Travis Barker in an ultra luxury wedding ceremony in Portofino, Italy (while you’re here, check out this luxury wedding in Italy by Benfield Photography). I’ve read all the posts and seen all the published photos. Now, I’ve narrowed down the 3 Things I love about Kourtney Kardashian’s Luxury Wedding to Travis Barker.
#3 Favorite Thing about Kourtney Kardashian’s Luxury Wedding
My #3 Favorite Thing about Kourtney K’s Luxury Wedding is probably the #1 most talked about. Everywhere you look you’ll see a photo of Kourtney K’s luxury wedding veil. I’ve photographed hundreds of wedding veils over the years and I have to say, this one is a jaw-dropper. I am already seeing veils with lots of detail embroidered into them for 2022. I suspect Kourtney K’s wedding veil will set a trend for over-the-top luxury wedding veils for the next year or two. Right now, I welcome it. I’m not sure if this trend will overly-date a wedding, which I’m typically opposed to. However, after seeing hundreds of veils over the years, I’m excited by what is new and different.
#2 Favorite Thing about Kourtney Kardashian’s Luxury Wedding
Up next, my #2 Favorite Thing about Kourtney Kardashian’s Luxury Wedding is that they had a practice wedding in Las Vegas. I don’t know their reasoning behind this, but I think it’s a really fun idea! Couples have been having engagement parties and wedding rehearsals for decades. Why not combine the two into the one really fun event? Also, I have a soft spot for any luxury Las Vegas wedding (having my own there in 2019). Brides, can we make this a thing? I’d love to photograph some of these!
#1 Favorite Thing about Kourtney Kardashian’s Luxury Wedding
This isn’t even close. While the other two here are fun and cute wedding ideas for a wedding, this one takes the cake. Travis Barker included his kids in the wedding. His daughters were bridesmaids, which I absolutely love. My daughter Ellie was a bridesmaid in my wedding. I was honored to include her and to have her support on Tyler and my big day. It immediately gave me respect for Travis (I don’t know much about him), because a man who is good to his kids is so important.
I will say that there were a few things I didn’t love about the wedding. Should I do another blog about that? Let me know in the comments. Off hand, I’d say I didn’t love that it wasn’t an unplugged ceremony (I saw iPhone pics from the ceremony). I also didn’t love the wedding photos I saw. Lots of crooked photos, distracting elements, weird lighting, etc. Granted, the photographer is more of a fashion photographer. And of course, I am a luxury wedding photographer… we obviously have different styles.
What did you think about the wedding? I’d love to hear your thoughts! LMK in the comments.
Talk to you soon,
Dale
