In honor of my friend Amanda having her book release party, here’s a post dedicated to her new children’s book, A Princess of Dragons: The Matlida Story.
I met Amanda in college when we were both working for The Chart, Missouri Southern State University’s campus newspaper. I was the Director of Photography for the newspaper and spent most of my evenings processing and scanning film to get images ready for the weekly edition. When I first met Amanda, what I remember most is that she was creative. By that, I mean she was REALLY creative! As we have followed each other throughout the years, we’ve maintained a friendship that has grown bigger and bigger. And now, I’m so excited to celebrate her wins with her.
We gathered the family together and hit the road to St. Louis. Amanda’s book release party was held at the Butterfly House, which matched the whimsy of her book, (you can buy it on Amazon here). We bought Scout a new dress to fit the vibe and of course took a few photographs to commemorate the special occasion.

About A Princess of Dragons: The Matilda Story
As for the A Princess of Dragons book, it tells the story of a princess, Matilda, who has the power to grant wishes for her friends. She lives in a world of magic, fairies, and of course dragons. We learn that Matilda has her own very special wish – “and it looks like it will take a grand adventure to make it come true.” I love a good adventure, and I love anything with dragons and fairies and all the fantastic things that the best minds conjure up.

If you are a book lover, grab A Princess of Dragons: The Matlida Story for your young one.
Talk to you soon,
Dale
