It might sound nuts to photograph senior photos in water, but when did that ever stop me from shooting a photo? Taegan sent me DM on Instagram about two weeks before we were to shoot her senior pictures in Northwest Arkansas with one request: senior photos in water. Challenge accepted!

I wasn’t sure where I wanted to shoot these water photos. However, do you remember the blog post I wrote about scouting locations? Well, this was one of the sessions I was scouting for! I wanted to photograph her senior photos in water that I had never photographed in before. I found a really cool spot!

You have to plan well when you shoot senior photos in water. You have to shoot all the photos that don’t require being very wet first. Then, once you know you have great shots, you can move on to shots where you can get the hair and makeup wet.

Taegan was an incredible model for shooting in water. She is a swimmer, so being in water comes naturally to her. I was thankful for that when it came to setting up different poses. I relied on her some, and she leaned on me for others. It was great teamwork, and the photos came out pretty amazing.
