Today I wanna share one of my creative kid portrait ideas with you. At the end of the Petree family photo session in NW Arkansas recently, I got a fun idea. (btw, I’ll share more from this session soon)
I knew I already got all my great shots that I needed from the family portrait session, so I decided it was the perfect time to do a creative kid portrait idea: playing on the merry go round! I got on with the kids and had dad push us really fast. By slowing my shutter down super slow, I was able to capture a lot of motion in the background to show our speed. The kids LOVED it, and gave me really genuine moments and smiles.
Do you have any Creative Kid Portrait Ideas? I would love for you to share them in the comments section below! In the meantime, check out the image below. I really like it because it also has dad’s arm in the frame. I just imagine these two looking back at this photo a different points in their lives: brother’s graduation, sister’s wedding day, 40th birthday. And then their own kids looking at it and recreating it.
I just love photography.
Talk to you soon,
Dale
