About the Best Wedding Portraits of 2021 Nominees
I was blessed to shoot so many incredible weddings for some wonderful couples this year. The Infiniti room at Crystal Bridges Museum, the incomparable Osage House, and so many other spectacular NWA wedding venues: 2021 brought me to some of the best and most beautiful places Arkansas has to offer. But it’s not all about the location that makes a Benny Award nominee. It always has been, and always will be, about the couple in the photograph.
The wedding day is such a special time. If it’s a traditional wedding, all your loved ones are there. If it’s an elopement, it’s just the bride and groom (and maybe a couple of special guests). The one thing that is always present at a wedding is actually the most important part of the wedding: Love. It’s my job. Wait. It’s my HONOR to get to capture this love with my camera. I cherish it and relish in it.
Each and every wedding day, I get to spend some private time with the groom and bride. It’s my favorite part of the wedding day. To get to witness their pure love without others around is such a thrill. Some couples are more intimate, while others are more boisterous. And ALL of it is exciting to photograph.
