I think I have been counting down the days until Caroline’s Wedding at Hillside Estate since about November. There are certain weddings that you know are going to be filled with incredible details and special moments. I knew Caroline’s wedding day would be so special, because Caroline is so special. She has an incredible family that is super close with one another. That always makes storytelling luxury wedding photography so important, because it’s my duty to know those relationships to best capture them.

My responsibility to capture all the dreamy wedding details started from the moment I arrived at Hillside Estate. There were only a few people on the planet who had seen Caroline’s dress before the wedding day. She kept it a secret from even her bridesmaids! (more on that in a minute) I of course already knew this so we coordinated how to best photograph the dress so nobody saw it before the big reveal. Speaking of the big reveal, I also coordinated a moment with her bridesmaids that you won’t want to miss.

Planning the Special Moments

While a lot of photographers get frustrated, or worse, complain about having to coordinate events on the wedding day, I relish the duty. I love helping the bride avoid stress on her wedding day. I do that by reassuring her that everything is going great, and also by helping set up those special moments. Finding great light and interesting architecture for photo composition is one of my superpowers. Honestly, it was pretty easy at Hillside Estate… it’s an incredible wedding venue. (dare I say top three all-time? definitely!)

About that Monique Lhuillier dress… and those perfect wedding details…

Getting ready for her Wedding at Hillside Estate had Caroline sentimental. We got to photograph some really special moments of Caroline getting ready, with her bridesmaids, and with her family.

Look at these first look moments we photographed of Caroline seeing her father and brother, and then her bridesmaids. (the dress was a surprise to all of them!)

Tomorrow I’m going to share Caroline and Daniel’s wedding ceremony at The Hillside Estate. I want you to come back and check it out, especially if you love white wedding chapels with tons of natural light!

Talk to you soon,
Dale
