We decided to shoot Jensen’s senior pictures in Tulsa as soon as I saw her Pinterest board. I typically have clients share Pinterest boards with me, or create one together. I thrive on planning photo shoots so that there are no surprises when the actual shoot comes. Pre-visualization is a technique a lot of photographers either don’t do, or don’t do well. I still leave myself wiggle room for creativity on the shoot day, but I know exactly what to expect and feel control over the content creation process.
Whew… that was quite the digression, lol. Let’s just look at pics.
With all that said, this cute white mini dress Jensen chose to wear was perfect for her senior pictures in Tulsa. This was the 2nd outfit of the shoot (the first and third outfits will be posted soon). I knew the area of Tulsa I wanted to shoot, so I had the family meet me at our spot. Isn’t this background so fun?
This next series shows how we can be flexible on the shoot day. We were walking to the rock staircase (above) when I spotted this yellow flower field, which was hidden by some trees. We took a 5 minute detour to shoot with the yellow flowers. I also pulled in the yellow fall leaves behind by shooting with a 50mm lens in the horizontal shot, and then framed her with the background trees by putting on a 35mm lens. Lens selection is so important, photographers! Choose wisely!
Ugh… I can’t pick my favorites. Here’s a collage of Jensen’s senior pictures in Tulsa. Let me know your favorites! And stay tuned for more from Jensen’s Tulsa senior portraits.
