Ty and Scout have a really special bond, so I thought it would be fun to do a mom and daughter photo shoot with them. Scout spends most of each day with Tyler. Whether it be lounging around the house, playing out in the backyard, or a trip to The Little Gym or Target, these two are always by each other’s side. Scout adores her momma so much. Their bond brings me so much happiness.
That being said, Scout is a little stinker and a bit of a wild child. She runs and runs, and talks and talks. Capturing an image during this mom and daughter photo shoot tested my abilities to shoot quickly. However, with a little patience and a little luck, I was able to capture some really sweet photos. Are these perfect? No. Should they be? Probably not, if I want it to portray their true selves. I think I did that in these photos. By the way, this is the photoshoot where Ty gave me the best advice for photographing your own kids. You would know by looking that she’s the prettiest woman in the room; And then when she talked you would know she is also the smartest. (and probably the funniest)
As a wedding photographer in Northwest Arkansas, I often imagine my clients’ kids looking at the photos I take of their parents. I like to picture them feeling love or a fondness for the younger version in the photo. Photography is so powerful that way, and it makes me thankful I get to do this for a living.
