Knotting Hill Place Wedding | Cortlyn & Sumner

Some weddings just feel effortless in the best way.

Cortlyn and Sumner’s wedding at Knotting Hill Place was one of those days—refined, joyful, emotional, and beautifully designed from beginning to end. Every detail felt intentional, yet nothing felt overdone. It was timeless in a way that will age gracefully for decades.

And a huge part of that experience was the design and coordination.
Wedding Details & Design by Hunter Orcutt

Before the day picked up, we spent time documenting the details—each one thoughtfully curated.

The invitation suite, florals, textures, and color palette all worked together beautifully. Soft greens, delicate whites, layered fabrics—everything felt cohesive and elevated without being overwhelming.

Hunter Orcutt’s design brought a sense of refinement to every corner of the day.

This was our second time working with Hunter Orcutt, and once again—she absolutely delivered. Her ability to blend elevated design with a seamless, stress-free experience is something we always appreciate. If you follow our work, you know how much we value a strong creative team—and Hunter is exactly that.

Getting Ready at Knotting Hill Place

The morning began quietly inside the bridal suite, with soft natural light filling the space.

One of the most meaningful parts of any wedding day is this slower start—when everything hasn’t quite begun yet, and the emotions feel close to the surface. Cortlyn getting ready with her mom was one of those moments.

As her mom helped button the back of her gown, there was a quiet mix of anticipation and emotion—something simple, but incredibly meaningful.

A Bridesmaids First Look Full of Joy

Instead of a first look with Sumner, Cortlyn shared that moment with her bridesmaids.

As the doors opened, the reactions were instant—pure excitement, laughter, and a few tears. These are the moments that bring so much personality into a wedding day.

It’s a reminder that your wedding is not only about the two of you, but also about the people who have been part of your story along the way.

No First Look… and Why It Was Perfect

Cortlyn and Sumner chose not to do a first look—and it made their ceremony even more emotional.

When Cortlyn walked down the aisle, Sumner’s reaction said everything. The anticipation, the build-up, the weight of the moment—it all came together at once.

There’s something incredibly powerful about seeing each other for the first time during the ceremony.

If you’re deciding what’s right for your day, this post on wedding first looks is a great place to start.

A Stunning Knotting Hill Place Ceremony

Knotting Hill Place is already a beautiful venue—but this ceremony design elevated it even further.

The aisle was lined with tall white floral trees, creating a soft, romantic pathway leading to the altar. Combined with the natural light pouring through the large windows, the space felt bright, airy, and almost ethereal.

It was elegant without feeling overdone—exactly the balance you want in a ceremony space.

After the ceremony, we stepped into portraits—and everything came together effortlessly.

The architecture, the soft light, and the connection between Cortlyn and Sumner created something truly special. Their portraits feel natural and timeless—never forced, always genuine.

These are the images that will still feel relevant decades from now.

An Elegant Reception with Energy to Match

The reception space carried the same refined design into the evening.

Soft florals, clean lines, and intentional styling created a welcoming atmosphere that quickly transitioned into a lively celebration.

From heartfelt toasts to a packed dance floor, the energy built naturally throughout the night.

A Private Final Dance

One of the most meaningful moments of the night happened after the reception.

Cortlyn and Sumner shared a private final dance—just the two of them in the room. No guests, no distractions. Just a quiet moment to take everything in.

These are the moments couples often remember most.

Fireworks to End the Night

To close out the evening, guests gathered outside as the sky lit up with fireworks.

Cortlyn and Sumner stood together, watching the final moments of their wedding day unfold. It was joyful, celebratory, and the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

Working with Hunter Orcutt Again

We loved working with Hunter Orcutt on this wedding—and it reminded us how valuable a great planner truly is.

This was our second wedding together, and her ability to bring a vision to life while keeping everything running smoothly is something we always appreciate.
